Obituary

Dorothy Lee (Latterner) Shockley went home to be with her Lord and Savior, peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, February 1st, 2016. She was a godly woman known for sweet nature and caring personality. Dorothy was born on June 5, 1930 and was married to her late husband and high school sweetheart, Floyd Shockley on March 21, 1952. Floyd and Dorothy will be celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary together in their heavenly home. Dorothy stayed at James River Care Center for the past five years and was well know as "Grandma" to many nurses who cared for her.
Floyd and Dorothy were faithful members of Galloway Baptist Church and lived and raised their family in the Galloway Community. Dorothy was a long time member of Galloway''s Choir and always enjoyed singing and carrying a tune everywhere she went. She valued her relationship with Jesus Christ and the time spent with her family. Among making a caring home for her own children, she spent her days doting on her grandchildren and found pride in spoiling them.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Zelma Latterner; her sister Nina Frankum; beloved son Steven Mark Shockley; and loving husband Floyd Bardaine Shockley.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Southard; daughter in-law Janelle Mallow and husband Todd; and her wonderful grandchildren Amanda Frost and her husband Rob; Abby Hathcock and her husband Trey; and Seth and Paige Shockley.
Please join us in celebrating her life at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 10-11am. Graveside will follow after service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer''s Association in Springfield, MO.
