Dorothy Anne Hunsaker "Dottie or Dot" was born on March 20, 1956 to Treva Imogene (Jennings) Dancey and Walter Emerton Dancey at Springfield Baptist Hospital. Her older siblings in order were Patricia "Pat" Lucille, Glenda Faye, Donald "Don" James, David "Dave" Wayne, William "Bill" Joseph, Edwin "Steve" and then Dorothy "Dottie" Anne.
She lived up to her true title of being the baby of the family. They all took very good care of her and she was very close to them and her nieces and nephews; she became an aunt at the ripe old age of three so the nieces and nephews that her older siblings had when she was young she developed a strong bond with them and they were more like siblings to her as well. Dottie was joined in marriage to the one true love of her life, (according to her) David Robert Johnson on May 31, 1974. To this union they were blessed with four beautiful children.
Survivors include, her children, Tracey Li Anne (Johnson) Howard and her husband Johnny Franklin "Franky' Howard of Crane MO, Greggory Allen Johnson of Springfield, MO, Treva Jeane Johnson, (passed away as an infant at the age of five months) Lake Helen, FL, and Steven Robert Johnson and wife Jenelle Johnson of Springfield, MO. She always said that her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Dottie later married again on February 21, 1997 to Russell Hunsaker, and they later divorced in October of 2002.
Dottie was preceded in death by her daughter Treva, by her parents, her two older sisters, her older brother, two nephews and three nieces that she was very close to and the one true love of her life David Johnson. Her cat Peaches that she had for 16 years that she loved very much as well.
Dottie worked in the hospitality industry, and later on in life in nursing homes where she enjoyed talking to and visiting with the residents that she served. She enjoyed working until she retired pretty early in life at the age of 45 due to her health issues that she had. She could really make friends anywhere she was and she grew fond of a lot of the residents and quickly became attached to them when she worked around them every day. She had an infectious laugh and smile and her eyes sparkled when she smiled. She had a huge heart and will always be remembered for the love that she had for her children and her family.
Dottie struggled with alot of health issues over the last several years and she had lost that sparkle in her eye and did not smile nearly as much as she used to, but she is now at rest and reunited with her family in Heaven that she loved and missed dearly. She is in her Heavenly home and her little body is whole again and she is walking the streets of gold with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.
