Dorothy Brashear, 96, of Springfield, MO, went home to be with the Lord on March 03, 2018. She was born December 25, 1921, in Centraillia, IL, to William and Edna Grace (Krupp) Weatherford. Dorothy was one of seven children.

Dorothy married Nean Brashear on April 30, 1966 and shared 31 wonderful years before his passing in 1997. Dorothy and Nean loved to dance, go fishing and camping. She was an excellent cook and baker. She was fondly called the "pie cutter" by all the ladies at church. She was a member of Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was active and lived independently up until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Nean, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Left to mourn her passing are: her sister, Barbara Benge; step-children Larry (Linda) Brashear and Judy Lampo; grandchildren, Kurtis Lampo and Kathy (Scott) Stewart, Stacye (Jeff) Henry, Christopher Brashear; great grandchildren Ryan and Mariah Stewart and Dawson Henry as well as a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends. Dorothy will be missed by all whose life had been touched by her.

Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 12-1 p.m in the Chapel at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home (4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO). A Funeral Service will be held at 1p.m with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
