Doris Irene Jackson, 83, of Rogersville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on March 4, 1943, in McFarland, CA, to parents Gene Swan and Lorena Stapp.

Doris graduated high school from Bakersfield, CA, and met her husband, Benjamin Lee Jackson, during his service in the Marines in Barstow, CA. They married on Nov. 5, 1960, in Nevada and together they raised three children after returning to Missouri. She loved to dance and enjoyed competitive swing dancing. Doris further enjoyed the company of the friends she made through those experiences.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Victor and Richard Swan, sisters, Janet Mallory & June Galloway, and her grandson, Grady Davis.

She is survived in life by her sister, Carol Johnson, her children, Tammy Jackson, Tina (Jackson) Jolliff and husband Mark, and Jim Jackson. Her grandchildren, Chad Jolliff and wife Taylor, Dusty Davis and wife Candace, Kelsey (Jolliff) Roe and husband James, Tiffany (Davis) Wright and husband Eli, Cody Jackson, and Jeremy Davis, as well as her 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, MO. The family and close friends will gather to celebrate her life at a date and location to be determined.
