Doris June Wilcox, 82, entered heaven on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 with family by her side. She was born on Friday, February 15, 1935 in Springfield, MO to the late Roy Hutchins and Elva Butts.
Doris retired from the Springfield Post office and was a member of the Galloway Baptist Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rev. James W. Wilcox, Sr., her sister and brother-in-law Freda and Archie Buckner and one grandson Jim Splain.
She is survived by her five children Gail Splain (husband David) of Mtn. Grove, MO, Linda Spence (husband Steve) of Belton, MO, Nancy Lewis (husband Dean) of Rogersville, MO, Regina Garzee of Springfield, MO and Steve Cowen (wife Roxanne) of Washington State, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four step-children Rev. Jim W. Wilcox, Jr., Janet Ferris (husband Tom), Judy Bryant (husband Daren) and Victor Wilcox (wife Debbie), several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and her Colony Cove family.
A visitation will be held from 10-11am on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Galloway Baptist Church, 2816 E. Republic Rd., Springfield, MO 65804. Memorial services will be officiated by Pastor Ty Harmon and the Rev. James W. Wilcox, Jr. following visitation. Burial will take place at the Rivermonte memorial Gardens at a later date and time.
