Obituary

Dorine Edith Jeffries of Springfield, Missouri went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 93 years.  She was born on Thursday, April 2, 1931, in West Falmouth, Maine to Doss R. and Alice Lenning.

Dorine worked for Equifax Services for many years as a secretary. Dorine had a heart for service to the Lord.  She volunteered at Crosslines for a number of years at the food pantry, Thanksgiving and Christmas sign up and distribution. Dorine loved to read.  She loved music, playing the piano and enjoyed going to Southern Gospel concerts in the local area. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being a card game or going to a local play.  She was a member of Campbell United Methodist church for over 50 years and sang in the choir into her early 80's.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Jeffries and one sister, Lorraine Whitson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Laurel Chayer (David) of Springfield, Missouri, Julie Weaver (Everett) of Brookline, MO; stepson, Steve Jeffries (Susan) of Joplin, MO; stepdaughter, Lisa Stiver (Dale) of Joplin, MO and stepson, Mike Jeffries of Raymore, MO; four grandsons, Dustin (Bridget) Chayer of Nixa, MO, Jason (Rachel) Chayer of Springfield, MO, Eric Manley (Heather) of Nixa, MO and Ryan Besher of Springfield, MO;  five step grandchildren, Jennifer Myers (Preston) of Bentonville, AR; Jared Jeffries (Meghan) of Galena, KS, Joe Western of Joplin, MO, Cody Western (Katelyn) of Joplin, MO, Kaleb Rae of Joplin, MO; nineteen great-grandchildren, Fintan Chayer, Rylee Chayer, Naomi Chayer, June Chayer, Opal Chayer, Charlotte Chayer, Minnie Chayer, Mason Manley, Landon Besher, Mia Myers, Lexi Myers, Hugh Jeffries, Vivian Jeffries, Gabe Western, Kyrie Western, Abby Western, Sawyer Western, Gwynnie Western, Georgia Western  and two soon to be making their appearance in the world.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held from 9:15-10 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Campbell United Methodist Church, 1747 E. Republic Rd., Springfield, MO 65804 with funeral services to follow at 10 AM.
