Don Edward Ford, 71, of Springfield, Missouri went to rest with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.  Don was born March 28, 1946 to Melvin D. Ford and Cora Jane (Young) in West Plains, Missouri.

He married his beloved wife Betty A. Brueggemann in Liberty, Missouri on May 29, 1966.

Don graduated West Plains High School in 1964 and went on to work for the FBI in Kansas City, Missouri before serving in the US Navy 1965 – 1969.  After his service he went on to work in the automotive field for the majority of his career.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Betty A. Ford, sister Loretta J. Womack, daughter and son-in-law Debra A. and Jeff Maples, daughter and son-in-law Donna J. and Scot Ewy, grandson Logan Barker-Maples and granddaughter Katelyn Maples and step-grandchildren Melanie and Alexander Ewy.

He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Herbert D. Ford.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO). Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. immediately following the visitation.  Burial at 1 p.m. will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, Don has asked that you make a donation to the food pantry of your choosing in his honor.
