Deone's childhood was spent living on and helping her parents and grandparents on their small farm. She pulled weeds, fed chickens, gathered eggs and helped with cooking and sewing. Even though she grew up during the depression, her family never went hungry as her father always had a job and they grew their own food. She had many cousins nearby to play with and enjoyed the love and activities of a large, extended family as she grew up. She went into Coalville to school and participated in band, theater and student government at North Summit High School, graduating in 1948.

Deone married Bryant Cox in the Latter-Day Saint Temple in St. George, Utah on June 1, 1950 and enjoyed a long loving marriage of nearly 70 years. She was very involved in their music and ranching businesses through the years and worked at several jobs including retail and hospital surgery preparation. She and Bry also managed a KOA Campground for many years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker to her three children creating a wonderful home for them to grow up in. She considered homemaking to be her main career and her home was warm, loving, comfortable and happy for her family and friends.

Deone was very artistic. She loved to paint beautiful landscape paintings with oil and did some woodworking. She also was excellent at sewing, quilt making and crocheting and created many beautiful things for her family that they cherish today. She was an avid gardener throughout her life, Flowers seemed to bloom effortlessly in her care and she created many beautiful vegetable and flower gardens around her different homes. She also created beautiful rock walls, patios and walk ways in her yard that provided an artistic way to display her flowers.

Deone was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many ways during her life. She had a firm belief in God and that life goes on after death. We can find comfort that she is now in the company of her beloved husband and other departed loved ones. She loved her family and her family loves her and will miss her greatly.
