IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debbie
Myers
February 15, 1952 – September 21, 2019
Deborah (Debbie) Ruth Duff came into this world on February 15, 1952, fighting all the odds, to
Mildred Duff and Paul Duff.
She came to Springfield, Missouri with her mother and brother and sister. And here she found the rest
of her life.
In 1968, at Windermere Church Camp, Debbie met the love of her life, Dick Myers. After he came
back from Vietnam, they married on June 25,1971 and she became Debbie Myers. In 1972, she gave
birth to a little girl, Melody Joy and in 1979 she gave birth to a little boy, Robert Lee. For awhile,
Debbie was content with being a housewife and mother. Once Robert was in school, she decided to join
the work force and do what she loved, helping people.
In Springfield, she carried on her work at places like OACAC and Community Foundation of the
Ozarks.
Debbie got her degree in criminology at Drury College.
Debbie fought against a lot of things during her life. She fought for her children, her husband, her
friends and her family. And even though it seemed that she liked to meddle, she really felt like she was
only trying to help.
Debbie loved helping people. She also loved gardening, crafting and cross stitch. She was a canasta
shark. Loved to laugh. And had the most brilliant smile. She was kind to people and believed that deep
down everyone was good.
She left this world on September 21, 2019 to be with her husband, mother and father, with her loving
son and daughter holding her hand. There will be no more pain or torment.
Debbie is survived by her children, Robert and Melody and their partners, her furry children, Kneesa
and Stinker, her furry grandchildren and loving family and friends that are too many to list.
The ceremony will take place on October 21, 2019 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Anne Seton Church
Flowers and memorial donations can be sent to the same place.
