Byron Dean Spaulding, 84, of Springfield, MO was called to his heavenly home on Friday, March 27, 2026, where he was reunited with the love of his life. He was born on Sunday, July 13, 1941 in Washington, D.C. to Ernest Damain Spaulding and Evelyn Lucille (Weyeneth) Spaulding.
On September 29, 1962 Dean was united in marriage to Margaret May (Bloomer) Spaulding. Together, they built a home centered on their faith in the Lord and a deep love for family. Their shared devotion to God and unwavering commitment to one another created a legacy that will continue for generations. Dean was always on the move, never one to sit still for long, and he lived his life with purpose and dedication. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fly fishing and golfing. Dean was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Above all else, he loved God and his family. He was a selfless, faithful provider and a strong, godly leader who always put others before himself. Dean will be remembered as a patient, kind, caring, and hardworking man whose love for his family and faith could not be measured.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Dean was preceded in death by one brother Ernest Donald Spaulding, two sisters-in-law Janet (Taylor) Spaulding and Carol Manoli, two brothers-in-law Jim and Michael Donohue, one infant brother-in-law and one infant great-granddaughter Olivia Ann.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Kevin and Cheryl (Dawson) Spaulding; Keith and Cindy (Cole) Spaulding; and Deanna (Spaulding) and Carl Lane; his siblings: Donna Spaulding and Dale and Linda Spaulding; his 22 grandchildren: Adam and Randi Spaulding, Aaron Spaulding and fiancé Heidi Phillips, Mason and Gabbie Fredrickson, Andrew and Taylor Spaulding, Kylee Fredrickson and boyfriend Turner Davis, Rachelle and Patrick Drake, Nicole and Justin Wisdom, Natalie Spaulding and fiancé Christian Stetzenbach, Justin and Nicole Lane, Wesley and Alexa Lane, and Kelsey and Cheyanne Lane; and his 22 great-grandchildren (and one more great-grandson on the way): Bennett, Finley, Jaxson, Colson, Sutton, Blakely, Blair, Evelynn, Cora, Naomi, Nino, Charlotte, Hannah, Kaleb, Kaylee, Joshua, Brandon, Annabelle, Ryder, Kolton, Olivea, and Braxten, along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Following cremation, private family service will be held at a later date and time.
