November 9, 1948 – February 6, 2022
Darrel Robson, age 73, of Springfield went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born November 9, 1948 in Pocahontas, IL to Russell and Dorothy (Linder) Robson.
Darrell's family moved to Springfield when he was at a young age. He played violin in the Central High School Orchestra. After graduating high school in 1966 he served in the U.S. Army for four years. He served one year in Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange. After serving in the Army he worked for General Electric in Springfield building electric motors. Darrell retired after 24 years.
Darrell loved the outdoors. He enjoyed bass fishing and fished in many tournaments. He enjoyed hunting as well. When Darrell's health started failing, he would be found outside on the porch. He enjoyed traveling often with friends to Las Vegas. Darrell watched the Sunday services of North Point Church on line and rarely missed a service.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Dorothy Russell.
Darrell is survived by a son Zane Robson and his life partner Shannon Orme of Springfield; a daughter Katia Amber Ross of Springfield; grandchildren Kodi Lane Babington (Trevor) of Oceanside, CA, Cameron Robson (Nadia) of Nixa, Arraya Ross, and Keira Merritt; a great-grandchild Benjamin Robson; brothers Larry Robson and Mark Robson; a niece Holly Robson; and a great-niece Gracen Candie.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel in Springfield. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield,
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.DAV.org.
