Daniel "Danny" Jones, Jr. 89, passed away June 6, 2014 at Ravenwood Assisted Living in Springfield. He was born January 7, 1925 in Galloway, MO the only child of Dan Jones and Mamie (Speak) Jones. Danny grew up in Galloway and attended Galloway Baptist Church his entire life until his health deteriorated. He went to Kickapoo Grade School and then graduated from Central High School in Springfield. He went to K.C. MO after graduation and worked at Aluminum of American Defense Plant as a bookkeeper before entering the United States Army. Danny returned to Galloway and worked at Killingsworth Clothing Store where he met Irene Friebe and they were united in marriage on July 10, 1948. He left Killingsworth and had a used car lot at their home in Galloway.

Danny had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face and was known as the candy man. He made friends everywhere he went. He was an avid lover of phonograph records, especially Country Western.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-laws Charles and Blanche Friebe, a brother-in-law Earl Friebe, a sister-in-law Beryl Trachsel, two nephews Timothy Becker and Trachsel Baby, and family of the heart Leo and Melba Mace and L. P. (Jr.) Robertson.

Danny is survived by his wife Irene Jones, four brothers-in-laws Gene Friebe and wife, Jennie, Johnie Friebe and wife Frances, Lester Friebe and wife Jeanie and Fred Trachsel, one sister-in-law, Thelma Friebe, many cousins, nieces, nephews and family of the heart, Beth, Becky, and Paul Robertson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Ravenwood Assisted Living and Hospice & Palliative Care of Springfield for their care and support.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 10th at 1 p.m. in the Rivermonte Chapel with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.

Family has requested memorial donations be made in Daniel''s name to Hospice & Pallative Care of Springfield, 2432 E. Madrid Ave. Springfield, MO 65804 or a charity of your choice.
