Coy Burney Jr. was born October 14, 1925 in Ash Grove, MO. He was the oldest son of five children. He is preceded in death by his parents; an older sister and a younger brother. Survivors include his wife Eula Mae; daughter Kathy, son-in-law Wayne Morelock, grandson Deryk and two sisters: Beulah Pyle of Springfield and Neva Day of Marshfield, plus numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews.
In 1944 he returned home from the military with an honorable discharge. In 1952 he met Eula Mae Rowden and they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage. They have one daughter: Kathy Burney Morelock. The family moved from Springfield to the Willard area in 1962.
Coy and his brother Jim began "Burney Building Supply" and installed windows, doors, mirrors and glass in numerous homes in the Springfield area. After selling his business he became a rancher, raising cattle and hay. This is part of his life that he enjoyed most.
In 1987 coy became a grandfather to Deryk Wayne Morelock. He and Deryk enjoyed many fairs, farm festivals and rides on the tractor.
A 1:00 pm Graveside Service will be held on Monday February 25, 2013 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W State Hwy EE, Springfield. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, 3161 W Norton Rd., Springfield, MO.
