Celestia Constance (Connie) Stokes went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2015 at the age of 85. Connie was born October 11, 1929 in Coffeyville, KS to Loyd Levi Britton and Genevia (Love) Britton. She always said her birth caused the Great Depression. Connie graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1948.

Connie married Billy J. Stokes on July 29, 1950 in Harrison, AR, and to this union three children were born. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Nazarene Church.

Connie loved her family unconditionally, no matter what; she was on your side. She used to say that God gave everyone a talent, but he had forgotten her. She always said she didn''t have one. Everyone that knew her knew what her talent was. If you were ever sick, in the hospital or needed some sort of help while healing from surgery, she was there to help. Connie knew what you needed or wanted before you knew it yourself. She just had a gift or instinct as to what would feel good, ease your pain, or taste good. She was a wonderful caregiver. Connie was there to clean your house, wash your clothes or baby-sit your children also. No talent? Think again.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two younger brothers and one sister. Connie is survived by two brothers, Haskell Britton and his wife, Dixie, Gary Britton and his wife Jinny, her sister-in-law Rosie Britton and a brother-in-law Ralph Calder; her husband of 64 years Bill; her three children, Terri and her husband Bill Monday, Bill Jr. and his wife Sandy, Traci and her husband Matt Richardson; 8 grandchildren, 10 great -grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Robberson Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Klingner-Cope at Midtown.

Family has requested donations be made in Connie''s name to the Alzheimer''s Association, 1630 W. Elfindale St., Springfield, MO 65807.
