Claude M. Holbert passed away on December 18, 2011. At Claude''s request, there will be no services. In his life, Claude was lucky enough to have 2 homes, one he lived for some 50 years with his family, the other was Christian Health Care East where he lived the last two years of his life; content and cared for by a wonderful staff.
Claude''s biggest joy at Christian Health Care East was a drawer filled with cookies and candy, which he loved to share with the staff that cared for him. The kids and grandchildren had so much fun keeping his candy drawer full; almost as much as Claude had sharing the treats.
When Claude left the hospital recently after a short illness he expressed a desire to go "home". Home to Claude had become Christian Health Care East and the "family" who cared for him. The behind the scenes heroes who cared for Claude selflessly and often without recognition because of their kindness and dedication, made him feel at home. The family requests donations in Claude''s honor be made to Christian Health Care East, specifically to Hall D.
For those who wish to visit with the family, please join them at the Holbert household on December 22, 2011 from 4-7pm. His loving wife Margie, daughters; Sally Ann Schmitt, Susie Lynn Smallwood, Beatrice Lea O''Shea and son Todd express their love and gratitude to all.
