Clarence H. Boyts, Jr went to join his parents in heaven on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at age 87. He was surrounded by family at Cox South following complications from a fall. He was born on Wednesday, March 20, 1935 in Springfield, MO, the son of Clarence Hobart and Thelma Jane Chastain Boyts, sibling to Elizabeth Shoemaker and John Julius Boyts, all whom preceding him in death.
Clarence lived the majority of his life in Springfield, MO and graduated from Springfield Senior High "Central" in 1954. He worked for 37 years on the Frisco/BNSF Railroad as a pipe fitter known as Chipper. Chipper was always smiling and never met a stranger. Clarence owned Boyts Home Builders, and built many homes around the Springfield area and Bonita Springs, FL. In his younger years he loved fishing and hunting in Colorado and owned the Nixa Trout Farm. Clarence had a love for travel, after early retirement at 58 he got his chance to travel in an RV with his best friend Peggy Zahner. He loved Niagara Falls and going to south Texas for the winter.
Clarence is survived by his four children John Clarence of Joplin, MO, Brenda Kay Myers (husband Nick) of Shell Knob, MO, Mark Wesley of Springfield, MO and Carol Ann Boehm (husband Chris) of St. Paul, TX, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Roger Perkin at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802. Online condolences can be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
