Charlotte "Sharlet" Tomforde was born December 14, 1919 in Jersey City, N.J. and departed this life March 20, 2014 at The Montclair under the care of Mercy Hospice.

Although a N.J. resident, she was employed by various companies in New York City and retired in 1963 as Administrative Assistant to the president of an advertising agency.

On April 14, 1962 she married William "Bill" Tomforde and they lived in Wayne, N.J. until they moved to Seymour, MO in 1979. They built their home and lived in it for 33 years. As a Missouri resident she became an avid gardener, quilter, card player and nature lover.

Sharlet's husband, Bill, passed away on Nov. 11, 2010, after 48 years of a happy marriage.

In 2011 she moved to The Montclair in Springfield, MO, where she lived until her death on March 20, 2014 at the age of 94. She is survived by a step-daughter and a host of dear friends and many acquaintances.

In accordance with Sharlet's wishes, there will be no services. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held at The Montclair at a later date.
