Charles F. Rider, (84), of Aurora, Missouri, died peacefully in his sleep on January 15, 2023 at 3:53am while in hospice care for multiple chronic illnesses.

Charles, also known as Chuck or Charlie, was born to Irene Hendrix and Floyd Cardo Rider, on March 20, 1938 in Pasadena, California.

Chuck was raised and educated in the Bois D Arc, Missouri area and lived his life in the surrounding cities to Springfield, Missouri.

Chuck was a hard-working man that provided for his family by working as a plant worker at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and later, Coca Cola Bottling Company in Springfield, Missouri. Chuck worked a second job as a police officer for the city of Willard, Missouri and often spoke of how much he enjoyed it and told many beloved stories related to his employment. After decades of dedicated service, he retired after a work-related injury to enjoy living in the country with his cattle, horses and dogs.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roberta and their daughter, Sheila. He is also survived by his sister, Georgiann Hendrix of Washburn, Missouri. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Floyd; brother, Jodean; and brother, Donald Glen.

Chuck was a generous, outgoing and fun-loving man that never met a stranger. He loved his family and four-legged companions with all his heart.

At Chucks' request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, the family would like to request that friends and loved ones donate to Rescue One Dog Rescue of Springfield, Missouri in his name to honor his memory and compassionate nature toward all dogs in need.
