Carroll W. Riley 76, of Springfield Mo. passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at Republic nursing and rehab in Republic Mo. He was born in Blanch Mo.
He enlisted in the U.S Marines in May 1962 and was honorably discharged in September 1966 with the title of Sergant. Carroll was also awarded Rifle Sharp-Shooter badge, M-14, and Armed forces expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Carroll was a heavy equipment operator for Local 101 for 33 years and worked for Journagan Construction for 23 years and then retired. In his younger days he fished many bass tournaments. He loved to deer hunt and later elk hunted. Carroll traveled all over the country visiting relatives and then after retirement would go to Brownsville Texas through the winter months. In Carroll's last 10 years he loved to dance with his special lady Juanita at the senior dances.
Carroll was married to Rachel Price from 1965 to 1983 and considerd her parents Floyed and Elizabeth, and her bothers and sisters and nieces and nephews his family until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William H. Riley and Lottie (Hicks) Riley, his four brothers; Lemuel (Buster) Riley; Robert (Bob) Riley; William (Sonny) Riley; Elmer Berry; and nine sisters; Evelyn (Riley) Bagwell; Lorene (Riley) Robertson; Lena Ruth ( Riley) Hendrix; Ethel (Riley) Versaw; Anna (Riley) Adams; Zona (Riley) Hartin; Glendoris (Berry) Morefield; Mary (Berry) McCleary; and Sue (Hicks) Crawford.
Carroll is survived by his daughter Sandy Riley; granddaughter Kelli (Riley) Vaughan; five great-grandchildren; William C. Riley; Haily Erwin; Olivia Erwin; Shelby Burton; and Kaleb Burton, three sisters Shirley (Riley) Twitty, Delpha (Riley) Taylor and Beverly (Riley) Meredith and a host of nieces, nephews and a very SPECIAL LADY who he loved very much Ms. Juanita Reeves.
