Carolyn Marie Liddle Warner, 91, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Arbors Memory Care facility in Springfield, MO.

Carolyn, daughter of the Reverend Cecil and Leona Hyllberg Liddle, was born July 30, 1935, on her parents’ first wedding anniversary. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a young child. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. Growing up in her father’s church and from then on, she often served as a talented and skilled pianist in ministry settings and sang in church choirs.

Carolyn and Mike married on October 30, 1953, in Waterloo, IA, just before his deployment to Germany. After completing his term of service, he and Carolyn moved to Chicago, IL, where he trained to be an auto body repairman. They built their family in Chicago and then Burnsville, MN, moving to Springfield, MO, in 1978. Carolyn was employed as an administrative secretary, proficient in Gregg shorthand and typing. She worked for the Evangel University campus pastor for 25 years, retiring in 2006. She was a wise, loving, God-serving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Friends remember her excellent sewing and handicraft skills. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her four children: Scott (Earleen) Warner, Bradley Warner, Jay (Cynthia) Warner, and Michelle (Shawn) Cole; one sister, Barbara (Paul) Parks; one brother, Gary (Faith) Liddle; and one brother-in-law, Harlan Wartenbee. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Mike” Warner (2010); her parents; two siblings, Judith (1944) and Margery (2025); one granddaughter, Heather; and one great-grandson, Jonah.

Funeral services will be held August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Klingner- Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. Division Street, Springfield, MO, with the Reverend David Nelson officiating. Interment will be beside her late husband, in the Veterans’ Garden at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  Memorial donations may be made to Evangel University Scholarship Fund, 1111 N.
