Obituary

Carol Steddum of Springfield, Missouri, peacefully passed away in Enterprise, Alabama, on October 8, 2015, after a long illness at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Steddum, of Joplin, Missouri; her mother, Harriet Melton, of Springfield, Missouri; and her father Carl Wise, of Humble, Texas. Carol is survived by her three children, Sherry Davis of Willard, Missouri; Donna Hoover and Mike Presley of Springfield, Missouri; and Jim Steddum and wife Katrina of Enterprise, Alabama. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah Stewart and husband LR, of Springfield, Missouri. Her grandchildren are: John Owens and wife Jamie; Melissa Gott and husband Bobby; Sheila Hopper; Kelly Nelson and husband John; Roger Hoover and his wife Meghan; all of Southwest Missouri; and Amber Alexander, of Madison, Wisconsin; Charlie Steddum, Leilani Steddum, and Mikki Steddum, all of Enterprise, Alabama. She also has 12 great grandchildren.

She lived most of her life in Springfield and Neosho, Missouri. During the last 14 years of her life, she lived in Virginia, Alaska, Hawaii, and Alabama as a proud Army family member.

Graveside service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, 13 October, 2015, at the Missouri Veteran''s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Also resting at the Missouri Veteran''s Cemetery are Carol''s mother, Harriet Melton with her husband Bertram Melton and Carol''s son-in-law, Tom Davis.

Flowers may be sent in care of Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 South Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, Missouri, 65804. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent In Memoriam of Carol Steddum, to DaySpring Hospice, LLC, 201 West Lee Street, Enterprise, Alabama 36330.
