Carol Louise "Lou" Erven Chastain Mahurin Stewart 73, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020. Lou was born on November 20, 1946 to Helen Louise Farmer Erven Lewis and Edwin Erven in Oxnard, California. She moved to Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Hillcrest High School.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Stewart; her parents; step father, Adrain Lewis and her brother, Larry Erven.

Survivors include her two children, Jeff (Delaina) Chastain of Willard, MO and Angela (Chris) Chastain-Annin of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Chris and Brittany Hughes and Bailey and Makayla Annin; four great grandchildren, Summer, Spurgeon, Simon Hughes and Keirsten Matheny; two sisters, Linda Newton of Springfield, MO and Lana (Gary) Thomas of Springfield, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Janet, Danny, Ron and Jeanie, Danny and Niki. A special thank you to Danny Graham for taking on a lot and helping the family in numerous ways.

Lou fought hard for a long time with her illness and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Ave Springfield, MO) with a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm.
