Carl Dickens, 72, of Springfield, MO, passed away at home, peacefully surrounded by his loving family September 15, 2018. He was born May 21, 1946 to Harold and Phyllis (Abbot) in Springfield, MO. Carl was one of four children.

He spent his younger years in Colorado. After high school Carl enlisted in the US Army, and went on to serve four years. He married Sandra Brown in 1994. Carl was a plumbing contractor and owned and operated Carl E. Dickens Plumbing here in Springfield. When Carl was in his 60's he spent 4 years in Afghanistan working as a plumbing contractor.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 24 years, Sandra, son; Jack and wife Cindy, step daughter; Mimi and husband Ron, step son; Michael and wife Heather, grandchildren; Jaclyn, Lilly, Jessica, Lindsey, Michael and Hunter, and a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose life had been touched by him.

A Graveside service is scheduled for Friday September 21, 2018 at 1 o'clock p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery (North National).
