Obituary

Calvin C. Owens passed to his heavenly home on Friday, May 16, 2014.

Calvin, a native of Springfield, was a WW II US Navy veteran, serving as a gunner on Merchant Marine ships in the Atlantic, and a graduate of Central Bible Institute and Seminary. He was a retired Assemblies of God minister who pastored for 30 years in Indiana. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,

He is survived by his wife Eva LaWanda Owens; three children, Sandy (Terry) Claessens, Randy (Rene'') Owens, and Carol Owens; and former daughter-in-law Susan Owens. He was preceded in death by his son Steve (Lynda) Owens. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, MO. On Tuesday, May 20, 2014 a visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church 1301 W. Atlantic St. Spingfield, MO 65803 service to be at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Calvin had a heart for foreign missions, and In lieu of flowers it was his desire that donations be made to the Assemblies of God World Missions
