Obituary

Caleb Wesley McManis was born on Tuesday, June 18, 1996, to James and Deborah McManis in Springfield, MO. He was affectionately known to his older sister as C-Bub and a lot of his friends called him Culture. Caleb was 28 years old when he passed away in Colorado on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Caleb is survived by his parents, Jim and Debbie; siblings, Kaisha and Chris and his niece Emberlee. Also, his grandmother, Delores Jackson and aunts Barbie, Linda, and Kathy. Caleb had an extraordinary group of friends who he traveled the world with, including Tyler Tulippe and Brianna Williams.

When Caleb was young, he loved soccer and football most. He was best known as a child for his love of dinosaurs and playing with his sister. He has always been a peacekeeper. He was always there as a mediator or to bring up a joke and make everyone laugh during tense moments. One of his family's favorite memories is when he would sing "Big Water" from A Land Before Time while crossing the Mississippi River bridge to go to Cahokia IL where his grandparents and extended family on his mom's side lived. One of Caleb's most notable passions as he got older was skateboarding. He was good at everything he tried but he excelled at skateboarding in high school! He graduated from Kickapoo High School in Springfield, MO in 2016. After high school, he took to traveling. Caleb has been all around the world! He traveled to China, Africa, South America and just had a real thirst for travelling. He picked up fire spinning as a hobby and loved to attend concerts and music festivals. He was just full of wonder and excitement and the most fun person to be around.

Caleb was a friend to all. Since his passing the family has received so many stories of his generosity and kindness. He was truly selfless and would do anything he could to help his family and friends. He was the best son, brother, and friend anyone could have asked for. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart.

Caleb is preceded in death by his older brother, Jeremiah David McManis; grandfather, Alvin McManis; grandmother, Joann McManis; grandfather, Paul Jackson, and his Aunt Pat.

His services will be at Rivermonte Memorial Garden at Klinger-Cope Funeral Home on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
