It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brunhilde K. Claypool, age 91 of Springfield, Mo on Friday April 11th with her family by her side.

Brunhilde was born December 24th , 1933, in Heidelberg, Germany to August and Anna Marie Schleusener.

Brunhilde married Robert D. Claypool on March 16, 1960 in Heidelberg, Germany and were blessed with two children, Eugene and Melinda.

Brunhilde worked as a Springfield School District special needs bus driver, cook at Bissett Middle School, Jail Matron at the Greene County Sheriffs Office, and volunteered at Mercy Hospital.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening as well as taking care of her house and spending time with her friend Ellen.

Brunhilde is survived by her children, Eugene Claypool, Melinda Ventress and husband, David; granddaughters, Courtney and Mykenzie Hicks; grandson, Brennan Ventress and great-granddaughter, Finley Ventress.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Robert D. Claypool.

A graveyard service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Mo. at 11:00am on Friday, April 18th, 2025.

A Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me".
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.

Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes, we're together again.
