Brian Thomas "O-Town" Ovitt, 43, of Springfield, Mo., passed away surrounded by family at Mercy Hospital on October 15, 2018.  He had fought his health issues for several years. His desire to live life as he did with dialysis 3 times a week for almost 3 years was admirable, due to the fact it was not always easy for Brian or his family. Brian was born on November 6, 1974, to his parents, Tom and Judy Ovitt.

Family and friends alike know that Brian loved being outside for work or play, no matter the weather. He did road type construction for several companies. So many intersections, diverging diamonds, an airport, and parking lots have lights that Brian worked on. Most recently he might be found riding a lawn mower or wiring buildings for internet. He enjoyed a boat on the river with friends, watching high school sports, arrowhead hunting, and helping others with whatever they needed, because he refused to sit in a chair waiting to die. Brian had a BIG heart, and was a "great guy".  Brian lived most of his life in his childhood home with his parents, and was always referring to his mom as the "Old Bag" or "Judge Judy".

Brian is survived by his parents, Tom and Judy; his Boston Terrier, Buddy Lee; Fab sister, Lisa and husband, Paul King; brother Scott "Taco", and wife Teresa Ovitt; nephews, Skyler King, Brayden Ovitt, Preston King and niece, Sierra Hosmer, all of Springfield.  He has several aunts; uncles; numerous amount of cousins, and a bunch of friends that will greatly miss and cherish their memories of Brian.

Brian, Judy, and Lisa were taken in with open arms to the world of dialysis at Fersenius Medical Care. Brian was their comic relief, candyman, trouble maker, and smiling teddy bear. They became a loving family to us, and the MWF evening crew took such great care of him.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 South Lone Pine Springfield, MO) with a graveside to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery (2244 E. Pythian Springfield, MO).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
