Martha Brenda (Carpenter) Cline, called by her middle name (Brenda), was born a day before the new year on December 31st, 1938 to John Carpenter and Alys Mildred Carpenter of Fall River, Massachusetts. Brenda is the fourth of five children, three sisters; Joyce Grey Carpenter, Dawn Gates Carpenter, Diane Orlando Carpenter; and one brother, John "Jackie" Carpenter.
Brenda was called to be with her Lord early Saturday morning on May 13th, 2023 in the home and care of her loving daughter and son-in-law Ken and Darlene Eck and close family friend Jeri Stevens.
Brenda and her four siblings were raised in St. Vincent Orphanage in Fall River, Massachusetts. Brenda and her siblings entered the orphanage in the years of 1944-1945. At 15 years old she left the orphanage to live with her sisters Joyce and Dawn until she met the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, James Philip "Bud" Cline Jr. in 1955. James "Bud" Cline and Brenda were married on a summer day, September 7th, 1956.
After 3 years of marriage Bud and Brenda Cline moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1959 where they raised three beautiful daughters; Brenda Darlene Eck Cline, Peggy Sue Farni Cline, and Laurie Ann Cline. Brenda worked at Lily Tulip for 25 years to help provide for her family.
Brenda is a kind and gentle soul, and is known for her beautiful smile that even in the toughest moments of life never failed to light up any room she was in. Brenda was a wonderful woman of faith who loved her Lord Jesus. In her love for Jesus, she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother who would not hesitate to do anything for her loved ones.
Brenda is preceded in death by her brother Jackie; sister Dawn, husband Bud; and daughters Peggy and Laurie. Brenda is survived by her sisters Joyce and Diane; daughter Darlene; grandchildren Austin, Brittney, Anthony, Jacob, and Kaitlin, as well as great grandchildren, Savannah, Lucas, and Josie.
A visitation will be held for Brenda Cline at 1:00 PM Friday, May 19th at White Chapel Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
