Boyd Maryland Martin Jr., 87, of Springfield, MO passed away at Republic Nursing and Rehab on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. He was born on Wednesday, April 12, 1933 in Gibson County, TN to Boyd M. Martin Sr. and Eddie Lee Stephens.

Boyd served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953, earning a Bronze Star with Valor. He married Helen Lane Brown in 1959 and together they shared 45 loving years before her passing in 2004. Boyd was an Automotive Mechanic by trade, but he love to tinker around with old cars, yard sales, fishing and was a avid reader. He especially enjoyed reading his bible and loved to listen to music but more then anything he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Boyd was a very important person in their life and spent as much time as he could with them. They adored him and he was known as "Pa" and will be missed tremendously.

The family would also like to give a very special Thank You to the Staff at Republic Nursing and Rehab for all the care and love they gave to Boyd while he was there. They are truly a special group of Angels and true heroes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Ronnie Wayne, one daughter Teresa Cook and one brother Jackie Martin.

Boyd is survived by his three children Mary Woods (husband Bill) of Springfield, MO, Charles Martin (wife Linda) of Republic, MO and Dean Martin of Springfield, MO, one son in law Bob Cook  of Buffalo, MO, two sisters Anna Lou Fowler of Florida and Linda Choate (husband Bob) of Tennessee, seven grandchildren Zach Simmerock (wife Brooke), Ashley Simmerock (fiancé Willie), John Bertalott (girlfriend Leticia), Shane Bertalott (girlfriend Dri), Chuck Martin, Kelsey Woolen (husband Kortez) and Kami Martin, three great-grand children Conner Green-Bertalott, Stockton and Iris Simmerock and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 6 - 8 PM at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 5234 W. State Hwy. EE, Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services to follow at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Memorial contributions can be made to the D.A.V., 2525 E. Division, Springfield, MO 65803.
