S/Sgt. Billy J. Snider, USMC Retired, passed away October 14, 2013 in his home at the age of 82. He was born September 18, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to George D. (Bill) and Goldie Hawkins Snider. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Juanita King and brother Rollin Snider.
Bill was an "Old Corps" Marine, enlisted in 1950 and retired in 1970. He served in Korea, and 2 tours in Vietnam, receiving severe injuries on his first tour. He was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 993 and instrumental in forming the Detachment Memorial Team in 2004. After retirement he worked at Wells Fargo Armored Car Service for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughters Debbie Beesley, Linda Snider and Angela Snider, 3 grandsons, William Beesley, George Beesley and Ronin Morrill and many special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 7 to 8 pm at Klingner-Cope Funeral Home Midtown. A graveside service with Marine Chaplain Ray Glynn officiating will be Saturday October 19, 11 am at Eastlawn Cemetery with full military honors by the Marines of Weapons Company 3/23 and the MCL Detachment 993 Memorial Team.
