IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Jean
Wilson
May 10, 1934 – October 19, 2020
Beverly Jean Wilson
May 10, 1934 - October 19, 2020
Beverly Jean (Bost) Wilson was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield MO. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 10, 1934 to Charles and Louise Bost. At an early age her mother moved Beverly and her siblings Charles and Marilyn to Miami Florida where her mother remarried and added three additional siblings to the family; two sisters, Gerry and Gretchen and a brother Mike. While in Miami Beverly met her husband James Monroe Wilson Jr. and they were married on December 20, 1953 in Miami. Beverly was a devoted military wife traveling the world with her husband Jimmy, who was a career military. Three children were added to their union, a son James Monroe III, daughter Marty Verrill and son Kelly Wilson. Family was her life and anyone who came in contact with her knew how much she loved them and how proud she was of them; she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with a passion. Beverly was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All along their military stops Beverly cared for numerous children in their home. For more than 50 years, her days were filled with laughter as she cared for her grandchildren as well as other children as their parents worked. Her legacy of love on these littles impacted many families. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren cherish this gift of love and will always remember full days of playing and making memories.
Beverly was saved and baptized in the baptist faith and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church Springfield Missouri for 49 years. She was heavily involved in the nursery, serving for over 30 years and was most recently part of book festivals and Christmas parties for the Boys and Girls Clubs. She and Jimmy went on multiple mission trips with the church to the Indian Reservations in Nebraska.
Beverly was welcomed in heaven by her husband of 65 years, James Wilson Jr. She leaves behind son, James M Wilson III and wife Sharon, daughter Marty Verrill and husband Lee, son Kelly Wilson and his wife Angie, nine grandchildren and their spouses, twenty one great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother and their spouses, three sister in laws, three brother in-laws and numerous extended family members and friends. Beverly taught us how to love unconditionally and to serve others faithfully. Her legacy of love and acceptance will be carried on and will carry us through.
Beverly lived her life by the Bible and exemplified Proverbs 31, Vs. 28-31: Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Services honoring the life of Beverly will be on Monday, November 2 at Second Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, followed by her memorial service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Klinger-Cope Rivermonte. Memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church-Missions.
