Betty Coleene Routh-Shaw: 84 of Springfield MO

passed away on Monday August 3, 2021, after her third and final battle with cancer. She was born June 30, 1937 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Clarence and Stella Owen. While working in the soda shop she met and married the love of her life Arvine Routh on September 9, 1956.

They moved to Leadville, Colorado where Arvine worked in the molybdenum mine.  They started a family and raised three wonderful children.  In 1969 the family moved to back to Chandler, OK and in 1970 to Buffalo, Missouri where they farmed until they moved to Springfield in 1977.  Coleene worked for Will Fisher Distributing and later for Sears until she retired and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Coleene appreciated traveling, gardening, cooking, genealogy and garage sales. She will always be remembered for her rum cakes!

She is survived by her oldest son, Gregg Routh and his wife Donna; Suzann Reed and her husband Darrell, Kevin Routh and his wife Cathy, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren all of which she adored.

Coleene was proceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Stella Owen, her husband Arvine, her sisters Arleen Cunningham, Rhonda Mueller and Janice Mueller.

Visitation will be held on Wed, August 11, 2021 from 12:00-12:30pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield, MO 65804). Funeral services will follow at 12:30 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
