Betty Flanagan 73, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017. She was born October 12, 1943 in Steele, MO to Raymond and Ruby (Lawrence) Sowell.

Betty loved planning get-togethers and spending time with her family. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, and spent countless hours volunteering at the Salvation Army and was a member of the Salvation Army Women''s Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Harold "Jack" Flanagan.

Survivors include her three children, Darlene Flanagan, Perry Flanagan (Kim), and Christy Wittmaier (Jonathan); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Taylor and Judy Saddler; two brothers, Johnny Sowell and Ray Sowell; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00pm with a visitation held one hour prior at 1:00pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W, State Hwy EE). Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Salvation Army Women''s Auxiliary (1707 W. Chestnut Expy Spfld, MO 65807)
