Betty Lou Doss (Roberts), 86, passed peacefully on April 23, 2026. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas to Faye (Roberts) Shanahan and Carl Roberts. Betty married her beloved husband, Terry Doss and shared over 50 years before his passing in 2014.

Betty will always be remembered for her spirit of caring and helping others. Betty had many close friends at Maschino’s and Har-Bell in her work career outside the home. Betty served many years as president and officer in the Springfield-area summer Legion baseball organization and the Springfield Boys Club serving as president of the Auxiliary for several years.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities. She and Terry had a close circle of loving friends. Among those friends were Bob and Judy Gray who have stayed very close and helped care for Betty through the past few years. The family is so grateful for their love and support.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Terry; her parents, Carl and Faye; stepfather, Leo Shanahan; her son, Chuck, and niece, Mila Elbs. 

She is lovingly survived by her son, Marc and wife, TaWatha; grandsons, Chuck and wife Carrie, Chad and Capri, Chandler, and granddaughters, Kourtney and her husband, Chad Cross and Haleigh and her husband, William Gray.

A visitation will be held at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 9:00-10:00 am with a graveside service to follow.
