Barbara Sue Wallis, age 78, of Springfield passed away in her home March 20, 2023. She was born June 30, 1944 in Springfield, MO to Charles Arnold and Lotie (High) Elkins.

Barbara grew up in Redtop. Her family moved to Springfield and she graduated from Central High School. She married Jerry Wallis September 25, 1962. Jerry passed away September 25, 2006 celebrating 44 years together.

Barbara worked for the Zenith television factory in Springfield from 1968 to 1988. When Zenith closed at her 20 ^th year with the company she went to work for Kraft Foods cheese factory. She retired at age 62 from Kraft in 2006 after 18 years.

Barbara loved puzzles, flowers, and humming birds. She had several humming bird feeders in the front yard. Barbara loved NASCAR, especially Jimmie Johnson. She never missed a race. She loved holidays and being with her family. Most of all she was the best mom and friend.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Jerry.

Barbara is survived by her special dog "Dude"; four children Pam and Russell Nelson, Sherry Goodman; Jerry Wallis, and Amanda Wallis; four grandchildren Jonathon Nelson, Jennifer Foltz, Anthony Nelson and Brandon McManis; four great-grandchildren Ashlyn Nelson, Ethan Hanson, Alex Nelson and Lily Nelson.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, March 27, 2023 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, Springfield. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
