Barbara was united in marriage to Don Tucker, Sr. on July 18, 1960, just five days after they met. Their love story flourished until Don's passing in 2016. Together, they raised a loving family that includes their children: Debbie (Tyler) Partridge, Donnie (Tricia) Tucker, Jr., Steve (Michele) Tucker, and Phillip (Kim) Tucker. Barbara was also predeceased by her infant children, Deanna and Robert Tucker.
A devoted grandmother, Barbara leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike (Debbie) Perry and Jerry (Lisa) Perry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including Tammy Nelson, whom she lovingly helped raise. Her cousin, Carol Fuller, who was her rock. She was the sister she never had, and her close friend, Charlotte Smith, was a constant source of friendship and companionship throughout the later years of her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, Don, her infant Children, Deanna and Robert and her brother Eddie Perry.
Known for her soft-spoken demeanor and kind spirit, Barbara's warmth and loving nature touched everyone she met. Friends and family described her as sweet, always smiling, and beautifully kept. A devoted homemaker for most of her life, she later took great pride in her position at Diamond Resorts during her senior years.
Barbara's greatest joy came from her family, and her proudest achievement was being a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished Christmas, often going all out to celebrate the holiday season, and was always ready to welcome loved ones with a warm meal and a smile. Her beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Barbara Tucker will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses at Nixa Nursing Home, especially Tabi, Reggie, and Tamika, whose care and kindness meant the world to Barbara. The administrative team, Amber and Jessica, also provided invaluable support, ensuring she felt loved and cherished. Additionally, we would like to recognize the exceptional Hospice Team, particularly Angi and Chaplain Joe, whose gentle presence and guidance made Barbara's transition peaceful and comforting.
