IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Augusta
Zweerink
January 13, 1924 – November 26, 2022
Catherine Augusta (Gusty) Zweerink was born January 13, 1924 in Swedeborg, MO, to Frederick and Ellen (Jacobson) Lundstrom. She left to be with her Lord on November 26, 2022. Gusty's life was filled with love for her family, friends, home, and her church. She married her childhood sweetheart, Donald Leroy Zweerink, in 1942. Together, they had Dr. Gerald (Jerry & Sandy) Zweerink, Darrell (Linda) Zweerink, and Katherine (Kathy & Tom) Clarke, who all survive her. Gusty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, and all of her seven siblings and their spouses. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Besides doting on her family, our mother loved to garden and raise her own vegetables which she canned, or preserved. She loved to sew. She was an excellent cook and pastry chef. She loved to hostess her family and friends. She worked in her flowers and yard on her two acres and enjoyed being outdoors. She and Leroy loved to camp and fish. She loved to travel. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and Elder, and was president of her circle numerous times. She orchestrated many a bean dinner fundraiser. Mom was also president of the PTA at her children's elementary school. After her children were raised, Augusta worked part time in retail sales. She was generous, patient, kind and caring, and a friend to all.
