Audrey Murray, 93, lifetime resident of Springfield, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, with her family by her side.
Audrey was born on March 8, 1930, to John and Clara Hiller in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Senior High School in 1948 and attended Southwest Missouri State. On November 25, 1949, she married Jack Murray, and lovingly devoted herself to her husband for sixty-four years. She was a precious mother to her six daughters and treated their spouses as if they were her own children. She was a sweet, thoughtful grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a gracious friend to all who knew her. For many years, she was actively involved in PTA, Queen City Chapter of Eastern Star serving as a Worthy Matron and as Grand Warder, a member of White Shrine and Amaranth, and a seventy- four year member of South Side Baptist Church.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Hiller; three sisters, Lewetta, Anne, and Charlotte; two brothers, John Fredrick, and Richard; one daughter, Josephine; and several nephews and nieces.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Lowe (Dennis) of Kansas City, MO, Margaret Crumly (Gary) of Hallsville, MO, Katherine Glotfelty (Richard) of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca Wilton (Kevin) of Broken Arrow, OK, and Jacquelyn Englind (Jeff) of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Bethany (Michael), Andrew (Kindra), Dan (Michelle), Carrie (Dan), Audra (Chris), Jacob, Caleb, Emily G, Seth, Zane, Ethan (Chloe), Jared, Emily W, Drew, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Haley, Karissa, Chloe, Kasidee, James, Claire, Alexander, Conner, Kortney, Hazel, and Katelyn; several nephews and nieces, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the South Side Baptist Church, 465 S. Grant Ave, Springfield, MO. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bud Everett, Pastor Chadd Harkrider, and Pastor Gary Crumly officiating. Burial will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date.
