IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela Sue
Jacobs
August 31, 1967 – February 21, 2025
Angela Sue Jacobs, age 57, of Springfield, Missouri, departed this world for her Heavenly home on Friday, February 21, 2025 after a long battle with a rare, genetic PRNP Prion Disease.
Angie made her debut into the Jacobs' family on August 31, 1967 in Coffeyville, Kansas, but, the family relocated to Springfield, Missouri when Angie was still very young. Her parents, Oscar Earl Jacobs and Ida Mae (Fritts) Jacobs, were thrilled to have a little girl. However, her older brother, Dewayne, seemed more interested in pestering his little sister and Angie made sure that everyone knew it.
She enjoyed attending church from a young age and grew up riding bicycles and playing with the neighborhood children. Angie was active in Flag Corps, Choir, and Pep Club at Parkview High School until she graduated in 1985. She had fond memories of the trip to Disney with the band and flag corps.
Angie's first job was at Bass Pro and she loved telling stories about working there. Then she became employed by JCPenney in the cashier vault where she caught the money-handling bug. She began her career at BluCurrent Credit Union in 1990 as a teller. During her 29 years there, Angie held a variety of positions before retiring in May 2019. After retiring, she worked part-time as a caregiver for Carl Tasset.
She was a devoted mom and GiGi and spent countless hours cheering on her children at soccer games, volleyball games, softball games, and musical theater productions. Angie was not only a fan of her children, but also a loyal fan of the St. Louis and Springfield Cardinals as well as the Kansas City Chiefs.
Spending time with her family, friends and pets was most important to Angie. She traveled to Oklahoma regularly to visit with family and was always up for a game of Monopoly, Sequence, Yahtzee, Uno or whatever game might be available.
During her quiet time, she found pleasure in reading or working different types of word puzzles typically while drinking a cup of tea (usually Constant Comment).
Angie's uncle owned a bowling alley so Angie and many of her family members were avid bowlers. She was part of a bowling league for a number of years and got a kick out of her team's name, Gutter Gussies.
Cooking was another one of Angie's joys in life, especially if it was one of her mother's recipes. Sunday dinner at her dad's house after church was a tradition that Angie cherished.
Angie loved many things in life and was quite the collector. The list is almost endless – photographs, jewelry (specifically Rustic Cuff bracelets and her mother's pearls and wedding ring), Converse tennis shoes (she owned at least 75 pairs in every color, style and pattern), cardinals, paintings by D. Morgan, antiques (especially hobnail and hurricane lamps), and snowmen.
Angie is survived by her son, Jordan Houseman; and daughter, Morgan Houseman (both children with former husband, Kraig Houseman); grandson, Jackson; granddaughter, Daisy; brother, Dewayne Jacobs; other loved ones such as nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and her pets - dog, Delilah; cats, Boo, Millie, Sam, and Ophelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ida Mae (Fritts) Jacobs; grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Angie's life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Klingner-Cope White Chapel located at 5234 W Highway EE in Springfield, Missouri.
Because this is a Celebration of Life ceremony, the family encourages you to wear something in remembrance of Angie – Cardinals or Chiefs attire, a pair of Converse, jewelry that reminds you of Angie, or anything floral or purple (her favorite color).
As much as Angie loved flowers, her biggest hope was that this disease would stop with her. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting on Angie's behalf, that donations be made to continue research at Indiana University.

There were many people in the last few years of Angie's life that cared for her, showed her how much she was loved and made her life full. We are very thankful and grateful for Claire, who we love to tease by calling her Angie's favorite; Lorna, her Jacob's House caregiver; Sherry, Brooke, and the rest of the staff at Phoenix Hospice; the staff at The Township Senior Living Community; her Parkview girlfriends; her ladies group from BluCurrent Credit Union; The Tasset Family; and the Houseman Family.
