Mrs. Amy L. Gemmill, 56 of Springfield, MO, passed away on Sunday, November,19, 2023 at her residence.

Amy Louise Gemmill was born on  Saturday, December 24, 1966 in St. Charles, Mo to John and Marva Lee (Salter) Plackemeier. Amy was married to Benjamin Alan Gemmill in May of 1992. She worked as a Scheduling Supervisor at Cox South Hospital but retired due to her Rheumatoid Arthritis condition which made it  hard for her to use a computer.

She enjoyed camping, boating and floating the rivers with friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her son, Max. She took great pleasure in taking care of Ben and Max and her many dogs throughout the years. Amy loved living in the country and watching all the deer and wildlife that roam around the property.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Alan Gemmill; son, Maxwel Alan Gemmill; brother, John Plackemeier; sister, Nancy Wilson; nieces, Marie and Alison Plackemeier and many friends from her time at SMSU.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marva Lee Plackemeier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the Klingner-Cope  Rivermonte Chapel: 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO 65804. Please please plan to speak about your love of Amy as this will be a non-religious celebration.
