Alida K. (Barbara) Powell passed away at the age of 91 on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Barbara was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and lived most of her life in Cape Town, South Africa. In 1999, Barbara and her husband Kevin immigrated to the United States where they joined their daughter and son-in-law in Springfield, MO.

Barbara was an avid reader with a keen interest and respect for British Royalty and world history. Barbara was a true animal lover and supported many efforts to aid animal welfare.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kevin, and is survived by her daughter Francesca and son-in-law Danny.

Memorial services will be conducted by Father Reidy at 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2200 W. Republic Road, Springfield, MO 65807.
