Obituary

Adolph ("A.D.") Bundrick went to his heavenly home on October 13, 2012. He was 88 years old and passed away due to complications following hip surgery. His loving spirit, servant''s heart and twinkling smile will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
A.D. was born on April 11, 1924, in Abbeville, Ala., and lived for most of his life in Pensacola, Fla. He married Thelma E. Grant on December 4, 1947, and they spent nearly 65 years together.
Adolph worked for the U.S. Department of Defense Civil Service for 37 years at Pensacola NAS, Norfolk NAS, and Patuxent River (Md.) NAS. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. A.D. was also a homebuilder, mechanic, and repairman, and started several businesses.
Adolph''s Christian faith was very important to him, and he showed it best by serving others. He was a deacon and lay ministry leader for many years at First Assembly of God in Pensacola, Fl., and at Glad Tidings Church in Norfolk, Va. In Springfield, Mo., he was a member of Central Assembly of God and also attended Maranatha Village Chapel.
In 1970 Adolph and Thelma relocated from Pensacola to Virginia Beach, Va. They later spent a few years in Maryland before making their home in Springfield in 1979, returning to Pensacola from 1985-1996, and settling back in Springfield from 19962012. In July 2012 they moved to Minnesota, where their daughter, Barbara Hallblade, and her family live.
Adolph was preceded in death by his mother (Tommie Bundrick), his father and stepmother (William Wesley and Minnie Bundrick), and two brothers (John Bundrick and J.C. Bundrick).
A.D. is survived by his wife, Thelma; daughter Barbara Hallblade and her husband Don; son Dr. David Bundrick and his wife Maria; granddaughters Noelle Epp and her husband Stephen, and Melinda Scheperle and her husband Stephen; grandson Brian Hallblade and his wife Tura; grandsons Dr. Jeffrey Bundrick and Jonathan Bundrick; and great-grandchildren Lila & Mele Epp and Samuel Scheperle; "adopted granddaughter" Lynn Yaggy and family; nephew Tim Bundrick and niece Vicki Bundrick Ryan and their families; as well as brother-in-law Wilfred Grant and his wife, Doris; and sisters-in-law Bonnie Grant, Sue Grant, and Deloise Grant; special cousin Myrtle Wilkins, and husband, Clyde; and numerous Bundrick cousins and "Grant Family" nieces and nephews and their children, all who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 6-8 p.m. at Maranatha Village Chapel, 233 E Norton Rd., Springfield; the Memorial Service in the same location on Tuesday at 10 a.m., with Interment following at Greenlawn North; Dr. Robert H. Spence, Dr. David Bundrick, and Rev. David Grant officiating.
