Ada Blanche (Lansdon) Brewer
March 18, 1922 to September 30, 2016
Ada Brewer passed away on September 30, 2016. Ada Blanche and Alma Ida, identical twins, were born at home to Amos and Blanche Rickell on March 18, 1922 in Edgemont, SD. Ada was born just 15 minutes before Alma and before the doctor arrived.
The family relocated to Northeast Kansas and the twins grew up in the Hiawatha/Horton, Kansas area. They graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1941. In October 1941 Ada and Alma were married in a double wedding to Ernest Lansdon and to Charles Bare. Their families would always be bound as they had children and raised them. Most summer vacations were spent together camping and fishing and travelling throughout the Midwest and Southwest parts of the United States.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents: husband Ernest Lansdon with whom she had four daughters; husband Willard Brewer; daughter Julie Ann Johnson and grandson Marty Stein.
Ada is survived by her twin sister Alma Bare, Hiawatha, KS; daughter Sue Moore(Roger Bright) of Nixa, MO; daughter Alma Lansdon(Ed Eliason) of Nixa, MO; and daughter Ruth Dunham(Phil) of Independence, MO. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family will he held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Klingner- Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte chapel with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The burial will take place in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens following services.
